The founder of popular antivirus software is wanted by police in Belize in his possible connection with his neighbor’s murder.
John McAfee is the number one suspect in the murder of Florida builder Gregory Faull. Faull was shot in his home in San Pedro Town on Saturday night, FOX News reports.
Faull was found by his housekeeper on Sunday with a gunshot wound to the back of his head.
Vienne Robinson, assistant superintendent for the San Pedro police department said, “We are looking for him in connection with the murder. No one has been charged with murder yet.”
CNN reports that McAfee’s girlfriend had spoken with him since the murder and said he is scared for his life.
She also said, “He’s in constant fear, paranoid. I would say it’s because of what he has been through….He thinks people are always after him, which they really are right now.”
She said she does not know where he is.
Four of McAfee’s 11 dogs were recently poisoned. Faull complained about the dogs barking a lot. McAfee had called police reporting that someone had poisoned his dogs but when police arrived they found the dogs had been shot and buried, assuming McAfee put them out of their misery.
The police have since dug up the dogs and taken their heads to compare the bullets used to kill them and Faull.
