Suspect in Colorado shooting appeared in court Monday
The suspect in the deadly shooting in Aurora, Colorado appeared in court Monday.
James Holmes was advised of his rights on Monday. He appeared for an advisement hearing, where the official charges are not filed but prosecutors have 72 hours to file charges, according to NBC.
Formal charges will be brought against him next Monday at 9:30 a.m. Mountain time.
Holmes had bright red hair and seemed dazed.
According to Fox news, Holmes is refusing to cooperate and it may be months before anyone knows why he conducted the attack during the midnight premiere of Batman.
Investigators found a Batman mask and other Batman related items inside of Holmes’s apartment. On top of the Batman memorabilia, law enforcement removed a computer tower and 10 gallons of gas from the apartment.
Holmes had the apartment heavily booby trapped.
Holmes was arrested last Thursday in conjunction with the early morning shooting at an Aurora, Colorado movie theater.
There were 12 people killed and 38 wounded.
The suspect has a rifle, two handguns, and a shotgun.
Holmes appeared in front of the theater during the movie and set off a tear gas canister and then gunfire erupted.
Holmes is held without bail in Centennial, Colorado. He will be advised of all the charges against him and could also face additional charges.
