Kansas City police officer has sex with women instead of arresting them

A Kansas City, Missouri police officer was arrested on allegations of having sex with two women instead of arresting them.

According to KY 3 Jeffrey Holmes was arrested and charged with two counts of acceding to corruption.

According to court documents, the first victim said Holmes had raped her at a motel in Kansas City. She told police that he said he would bust her for prostitution is she did not have sex with him. The second victim said Holmes asked if she was a prostitute. He then forced her back to her motel room in Kansas City. She stated that Holmes said he would arrest her for marijuana if she did not have sex with him. Both of these times Holmes was in his uniform, according to KSHB News 41.

According to the Jackson County prosecutor, Jean Peters Baker, Holmes was not working at the time of the incidents.

Baker also stated that the women will not face charges.

“It’s extremely disappointing and it’s actually infuriating, but it’s also very good day when someone like that who wears the blue uniform and carried the badge no longer will,” Baker said. “We don’t want an individual like that in the department, and I know (Kansas City Police) Chief Forté shares that opinion as well.”

“The conduct we are most concerned with here is a police officer who, in exchange for a benefit, got women to do things that he wouldn’t have otherwise,” she said.

Holmes posted a $75,000 bond after he was arraigned on Tuesday. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 19.
