A Naperville mother stabbed her son and the girl she was babysitting because they had evil in them.
NBC News reports Elzbieta Plackowska stabbed her 7-year-old son Justin 100 times and the 5-year-old girl she was babysitting, Olivia Dworakowski, 50 times.
She allegedly told her son he was going to heaven and had the kids kneel and pray before she stabbed them.
After the murders she went to a church but it was closed so she left a message on the machine stating she did something bad. Afterward, she went to the house where her older son was staying and said she had been robbed.
The Chicago Tribune reports that Plackowska told police her townhouse had been broken into and someone killed the children. Soon after, she said she heard the devil’s voice and killed the children to save their souls.
“She stated the children had evil inside of them and she was trying to drive the devil out of them,” according to DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert Berlin.
Plackowska also stabbed the family’s two dogs. Police have recovered the knives used, one was in the sink and the other in Plackowska’s car.
Plackowska has been denied bail and faces two counts of first degree murder and faces mandatory life in prison if convicted.
